He was the son of S.W.Clark Sr. & Emma Elizabeth Cowen.

Dr. S. William Clark Jr., a veteran of World War II, served the 8th Air Force as a First Lieutenant and Navigator and was a prisoner of war in Germany.

Dr. Clark, a renowned doctor of Ophthalmology, is a graduate of the University of Florida and an honor graduate of Georgia's historic Emory University. He began his credible professional service to the citizens of Waycross in 1956 and for the past 42 years he has well served the medical community. He served the local hospital as Chief of Staff, Chairman of the Executive Committee and Chief of Surgery..
He had contributed untold hours of service to organizations such as the Boy Scouts of America, the Waycross Jaycees, the Okefenokee Heritage Center Board of Directors, the Ware County Cancer Society and the Rotary Club of Waycross. He is a faithful and active member of First United Methodist Church and he is a devoted husband, father and grandfather..
