John was born and raised in Camden. He graduated from Camden Catholic HS in 1937 and married Isabelle in 1948. He had is own business for many years, selling Religious articles and goods to the general public as well as supplying many Churches with goods throughout So Jersey. When he closed up shop, he went to work for the City of Camden at the Water Treatment Plant, from which he retired.
Both John and his bride Isabelle were 'fixtures' at St Joe's Pro Cath in East Camden. John sang regularly at Mass and at Weddings and Funerals; Isabelle was the Church Secretary.
In 1975, they moved to Ocean City, NJ and John remained active in the Church and community at St Francis Cabrini.
John and Isabelle (Is) had 8 children. While one died at a very young age, 7 were raised at 30th and Carman Sts in East Camden.
