Vincent was born in Fontana but grew up in Riverside.
He graduated from Chaffey High School and after graduation, he enlisted in the Marines 1 June 1966, at a Los Angeles Recruiting Office.
Upon arriving in Vietnam, Vincent was assigned to Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division. Vincent died of gunshot wounds to the head and chest from hostile rifle fire, during a combat engagement with NVA enemy forces, near Binh Son (1) and 5 kilometers south southeast of Que Son, during Operation Union.
LCpl Benegas and 45 Marines died during the combat engagement with NVA enemy forces.
Vincent was single and served his country for 9 months and 20 day and was KIA# 11,376.
Tour of duty date unknown.
Vincent was 20 years, 1 month and 24 days old.
Survived by his parents, Jerry and Victoria Benegas, his sisters, Virginia, Linda, Judy, Rita, Gerri and Sally, and his brothers; Vincent and Ruben all of 3200 Rubidoux Blvd, Riverside, California and A brother; Robert Benegas of Riverside, CA.
