Raymond Curtis Potter, age 93, of Springfield, Mo., was born on October 22,1917 in Pocahontas, Ark. and passed away July 10, 2011 in his home after a very short illness.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years, Hazel Marie Potter; his daughter, Janice Darlene Peterson; his parents, Tip and Mattie Lou Potter; his brother, Roy Potter and sister-in-law Wanda Potter; his sister Laudis Potter, his son-in-law Larry Sikora, his brothers-in-law, Russell Sanders and Duane Sanders; and sister-in-law, Imogene Sanders.

He is survived by his daughters, Judy Sikora and Rita Hile; and son-in-law, Jack Hile; five grandchildren, Ronald Chapman, Casey and Bill Maupin, Julie and Eric Rust, Jason and Christy Sikora, and Leah and Tom Schultz; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; brother, Cecil Potter and sister-in-law Ruth Potter; brothers-in-law and their spouses, Howard and Hester Sanders, Glenn and Pat Sanders, and Vernon and Shirley Sanders; numerous nieces and nephews; and many many friends.

Raymond was a World War II Veteran of the Army Air Corp and a member of the VFW. He was a long time employee of General Motors Corporation and retired in 1979. He was a member of Charity Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 15, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in Greenlawn Funeral Home East. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
