Oscar Benjamin Overvold, 76, of 2513 Wetmore Ave., died at a local hospital late Saturday following an extended illness. Mr. Overvold was born in Jacksonville, Ia., Nov. 9, 1877, and had resided in Everett for the past 45 years. He worked for the Standard Oil Co. and was manager of the Standard Oil dock for 29 years, retiring in 1939. Surviving are his wife, Nellie Overvold of 2513 Wetmore Ave.; three daughters, Lillian Johnston of Yelm, Mrs. Berthabell Judy of 2106 Rainier Ave., and Mrs. Mable Greene of Tacoma; two brothers, Theodore Overvold of Rt. 3, Everett, and Edward Overvold of Fargo, N.D.; two sisters, Mrs. Olive Erickson of 2602 Everett Ave., and Mrs. Norma Fowler of Los Angeles, Calif.; five grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the funeral home of Purdy and Walters. The Rev. C. Elroy Shikles of the First Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Cypress Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Alfred Neble, Walter Jenson, Creighton Judy, Charles Reid, E. Loren Joyce and Oscar Overvold.
