CHASTEEN, Dorothy J. Age 84, of Colerain Township went home to be with the Lord Tuesday October 13, 2009 at Mercy Hospital of Fairfield.
She was born May 19, 1925 in Hamilton the daughter of the late Leroy and Minnie (nee Jones) Helfrey. On November 29, 1941 she married Wilburn Joseph Chasteen, who preceded her in death in 1997.
Mrs. Chasteen worked at Pillsbury in Hamilton from 1953-1979, and was a member of the Lindenwald Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter Pearl (the late Dennis) Campbell; two grandchildren Denise (Doug) Jackson and Joe Campbell; five great grandsons Matthew, Geoffrey, Joseph, Adam, and Andrew; one brother David (Carol) Helfrey; four sisters Thelma Geissler, Marge Koenig, Helen Ledford, and Alice Hoffman; sister-in-law Bobbie Jean Helfrey, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Chasteen was also preceded in death by her granddaughter Jeannette Campbell, two sisters Lila Smith and Nina Boehme, and two brothers Bill and Robert Helfrey.
Visitation at the Lindenwald Baptist Church 460 Symmes Road, Friday October 16, 2009 from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Randy J. Moore, officiating. Burial to follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
