Obituary:

W.W. Burnett, a pioneer resident of Greenwood township, died Thursday, December 13, at the age of 75 years. Although the illness immediately responsible for his demise was but of a few weeks duration, deceased has been in poor health for a period of two years or more. The funeral was held from the home Sunday, Rev. H.C. Snyder, officiating, and was largely attended. Burial was in Greenwood cemetery. A widow and four children survive. Three sons: William of New York, Charles and John of Greenwood, one daughter, Mrs. Dealia Little of Detroit.
Mr. Burnett, was born in Orleans county, New York, Nov. 10, 1842, and came to Michigan with his parents when 14 years of age, making their residence in Genesee county. On Sept. 26, 1881, he was united in marriage to Miss Martha Thomas of Port Huron. In 1881 he came to Clare county, later buying a farm in Greenwood township which has been his home ever since. In the death of W.W. Burnett the family loses a kind husband and father and the community a most exemplary citizen; one of a kind who will long be remembered.
