James Paul Hickman, 49, of Pearland went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, July 2, 2011 in Houston, Texas after a yearlong battle with melanoma. He was born June 28, 1962 in Heights Hospital, Houston to his parents James W. and Annie Hickman.
Paul is survived by his parents, his loving wife of 25 years, Janet Klaus Hickman, sons David Jay, Zachary Jacob, and Sean Christian Hickman; brother John Phillip Hickman and wife Becky, sister Dinah Hickman Boykin and husband Chris, nieces and nephews Mark and Jenny Guillemette, and Sarah Klaus; Alexis, Maddie and Jamie Boykin, Joshua, Rachael and Sarah Hickman; and many other close friends and family.
Paul was a lifelong Houston resident and member of Park Place Baptist Church where he was a faithful servant on the media team from a young age. Paul loved his God, his family, music and humor as any who knew him well can attest. He was a gracious, funny man who put his family above all else.
A visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2011 from 6-8 pm at Crowder funeral home in Pearland, A small family graveside service will be held at Bold Springs family cemetery near Livingston on Thursday, July 7, 2011.
