Bernard Robert Kettner, 88, passed away Feb. 12, 2011. He was born Aug. 20, 1922, in Chicago to Emil Kettner and Adeline Christoffel Kettner. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, of 62 years, Lorraine McCarthy Kettner; son, Terrance; and daughter, Mary. His is survived by his sons, Richard, Christopher and Timothy of Las Vegas, Michael and Joseph of the Chicago area; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was gifted with a beautiful Irish tenor voice singing professionally as Barney McCarthy. He moved to Las Vegas in 1974 and worked as a bartender and restaurant manager. Barney was a friend to everyone he met and will be missed greatly by family and friends.
