Bud was the youngest child of Cleo and Edna (Porter) Fuller.

He joined the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves during WWII and was assigned to A Company, 1st Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st Mar Division where he scouted for Col. Lewis "Chesty" Puller.

Bud earned the Purple Heart for wounds received at the Battle of Cape Gloucester which considered him 70% disabled at the time. His disability permanently affected the use of his left arm.

Following WWII, Bud returned to Michigan where he became employed as a prison guard in Cassidy Lake. He later moved his family back to his home town of Marcellus, where he was employed in South Bend at the Studebaker Company, for a short time. Eventually, Bud was hired as the Marcellus town constable, retiring there in 1975.

Bud married Leta Dell Rensberger on 15 Jun 1944 in St. Joseph County, Indiana. Two children blessed this union, Thomas Cleo Fuller and Terry Lee Gratkowski. At the time of his death, he was grandfather to Lynsey. If he had lived he would have been a proud loving grandfather to seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
