MOSES was the s/o DAVID & RUTH SOUTHWICK FARNUM of UXBRIDGE,MA..He married SARAH AUSTIN CIRCA 1816. SOME LIST THE MARRIAGE AT SOUTH KINGSTOWN R.I. BUT THE MARRIAGE RECORDS THERE FOR THAT TIME HAVE NO RECORD OF THIS MARRIAGE. AND SARAH'S FAMILY HAD ALREADY MOVED AND WERE LIVING IN THE WESTERN AREA OF MASS.AS WAS MOSES AND THERE ALSO IS NO MARRIAGE RECORD FOUND. MARRIAGE APPEARS MOST LIKELY TO TAKE PLACE IN N.Y. AFTER PICUS AUSTIN MOVED HIS FAMILY TO WESTERN PART OF N.Y..IT IS LIKELY THAT MOSES AND SARAH ALSO MOVED TO N.Y AT THE SAME TIME they pioneered to to the western area of N.Y.state where their 2 sons were born.In 1841 he bought GOV'T land in Oakland Co., Mich & the entire family moved THERE.It is passed down that he "dropped dead " on the streets of Holly. He may have also come to live in Millington with his son MOSES JR after his wife died in 1861.When the MILLINGTON TWP. CEM. opened in MILLINGTON, his son Moses had both of his parents re-interred in the MILLINGTON TWP Cemetery.
