Emmett Archer Johnson was born Aug. 21, 1902 in Barron, Barron Co., Wis., son of Thore (Thomas) H. Johnson & Wilhelmina (Minnie) Storm. He died June 6, 1995, in New Richmond, St. Croix Co., Wis., aged 92 years, 9 months and 15 days. His remains were brought to Barron and buried there in Wayside Cemetery.

Emmett "PaPa" Johnson, 92, of New Richmond and formerly of Barron, died June 6 at St. Croix Health center in New Richmond. Funeral services were Saturday at First Baptist Church in Barron, with Rev. Dennis Pond officiating. Burial was at Wayside Cemetery in Barron.

Mr. Johnson was born Aug. 21, 1902 in Barron County to Wilhelmena and Thor Johnson. He took over his father's farm near Wickware and farmed there until 1931. He married Cornelia Thorsbakken on March 31, 1927. They moved to the Town of Maple Grove and farmed there for 27 years. In 1958 they moved to the Barron area and farmed there until moving into the City of Barron in 1971. Mr. Johnson had worked for the Barron Farmers Store and driven school bus for a number of years.

He is survived by his son, Loyd Johnson of Buckeye, Ariz; Two daughters, Carol Christensen of New Richmond and Yvonne Granum of Leesburg, Fla.; 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grand-children; and seven great-great-grandchildren. [June 14, 1995, Rice Lake Chronotype, Rice Lake, Wis.]
