Oliver Mannon Hunter was born to William C. and Susie Stanley Hunter on October 12, 1923 in Pine Hill, Arkansas. He had an older brother, James Washington Hunter; and an older sister Annie Mae Hunter Tumlison.

Oliver was in the US Army during WWII and later served in the US Air Force.

Oliver married Hester Lois Campbell in June of 1944 in Hamburg, Arkansas. They had two daughters, Lois Ann Hunter (Carter) and Barbara Carol Hunter (Bible). Lois was killed in an automobile accident on August 25, 1956 in Nacogdoches, TX.

Oliver was married a few more times over the next years including a marriage to Donna Gossett in 1965. He adopted her two sons Robert (Bobby) and Greg.

Oliver was a carpenter and contractor working on such projects as the Houston Astrodome and Montana's Yellowtail Dam. As a contractor he built some of the first homes in the Sharpstown area of Houston.

He is survived by his children, grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
