Cliff Kulenburg passed away April 13 after a long battle with COPD. Cliff was born in Cincinnati, OH and graduated from Covington Latin School when he was 16. In WWII he was a navigator in the Army Air Corps flying combat missions over Germany. He was a POW for 10 months before returning home. He married, began a family and earned his Civil Engineering degree from the University of Cincinnati. He moved around following the jobs before landing in Colorado Springs in 1959. He worked many years in commercial construction building railroads, power plants, office buildings, apartments and schools. As a Superintendent for GE Johnson, he built 26 buildings in Colorado including the Pikes Peak Performing Arts Center in Colorado Springs. He was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus, attending Holy Family Catholic Church for over 40 years and a member of the VFW; the ex-POW 's and the Argonauts. He was always an avid bridge player and after retirement in 1986 he played plenty of golf. They spent many years as Snowbirds in Tucson, traveling and enjoying retirement. He is survived by his wife Ann, his children; Bill and Lyn Kulenburg, Megan Kulenburg, Deb and Jeff Kinnan and Betty and Craig Becker; his grandchildren Kate and Joe Gazzaway, Zachary and Erica Metz, Benjamin Metz and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister and a grandchild. A memorial Mass was held in Tucson with a reception at Rincon RV Park where he lived. Internment will be scheduled at Ft. Logan National Cemetery this summer. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation in the name of Cliff Kulenburg be made to his alma mater; Covington Latin School, Development Office, 21 E. 11th St., Covington, KY 41011.
