DANIEL, Dorothy Christina Eva - of Davison, age 77 died Sunday, April 17, 2011 at McLaren Regional Medical Center with her children at her side.
Dorothy was born in Flint on August 16, 1933, the daughter of William Levi Preger and Elizabeth Sheer. She was married on November 9, 1951 to William Jack Daniel at Flint, Michigan. They raised their children in Davison, Michigan. Besides being a devoted wife and mother, Dorothy also returned to school and obtained an Associates Degree from Mott. She enjoyed drawing and painting, gardening, and making dolls for children in need. She was known to be an independent spirit and was a role model for the virtues of hard work and compassion.
Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Christina (Michael) Strevel of Flat Rock, Michigan. Son, William (Christina) Daniel of Waterford, Michigan. Daughter Melody (Richard) Warzecha of Williamsburg, Michigan. Five grandchildren, Brandon Strevel, Jennifer Daniel, Kellie Strevel, Derrick Daniel, Samuel Warzecha; and two great grandchildren, William Kopke and Valarie McNamara. Also surviving are brother, Donald (Polly) Preger; four sisters: Esther Baragwanath, Barbara (Verlin) Rodabaugh, Betty (Gerald) Gillmore, Linda (Robert) Clay, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Jack Daniel, brother, Floyd Preger, sisters, Marion Coon, Lillian Mucha, Judy Gibson and great granddaughter Svea Kopke.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. Thursday April 21, 2011 at Corey Funeral Home, 415 N. Main, Evart, Rev. Fr. Joseph Fix officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to service time. Burial will be at Forest Hills Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Easter Seals.
