RIPPEE, FRANK J. Frank died on Tuesday, October 7, at home in Oceanside. He was born in San Diego on February 11, 1928 and lived in San Diego county all of his life. He served with the Marine Corps in both WWII and Korea. He retired after working 31 years with the Pacific Telephone Company in the San Diego and Oceanside areas. After retiring he established his own telephone business and sold it after an enjoyable six years. Mr. Rippee is survived by his wife of 55 years, Gloria Rippee; his daughter, Barbara Hock and son-in-law, Gregory of Greer, S.C.; his son, Donald and daughter-in-law, Shelley of Hauula, Hawaii; his granddaughter, Heather Forsythe and her husband, Steve of Rio Rancho, N.M.; grandson, Scott and his wife, Lisa of Ft. Gordon, Ga.; three great-grandchildren, Allison, Dylan and Jesse. He was a 50 year member of the Point Loma Masonic Lodge, a life member of the Oceanside Elks Lodge and a life member of the Oceanside Yacht Club where he was Commodore in 1979. A celebration of life is planned on Wednesday, October 22, at 4 p.m. at the Oceanside Yacht Club, 1950 Harbor Drive North, Oceanside. Private family services will be held at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Vitas Hospice or the Parkinsons Foundation.
