Mrs. Bertha S. Wiseman, 78, of 221 Main, Bellevue, died at St. Francis Medical Center.
Born Oct. 17, 1907, in Ramsey, Illinois, to Robert and Mattie Barton Patton, she first married Melvin Virden in 1925, they divorced in 1944. He died in 1955. She married August Howard Wiseman in August 1945 in Peoria, and he died Dec. 15, 1965, in Peoria.
One son, one daughter and one brother also preceded her.
Surviving are three sons Eli Virden, Albert Virden and Melvin Wiseman, Sr. Three daughters Carmen, Mabel and Nellie; 27 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; one brother, Glenn Patton and one sister Louise Cline.
She worked at Armour & co. 20 years before retiring in 1963. She was a member of Women of the Moose, Peoria Chapter 2318 for 40 years and a former member of VFW Post 8662 Auxiliary.
