Mrs. Velma O. Steigerwalt, 81, of 136 S. 7th St., Lehighton, died Monday in Lehigh Valley Hospital Center. She was the wife of Walter U. Steigerwalt. They observed their 63rd wedding anniversary last April.
Born in East Penn Township, she was a daughter of the Late Harry and Mazie (Kistler) Bowman.
Surviving with her husband are two daughters, Betty, wife of William Moyer of Breinigsville, and Mrs. Lovada Heydt of Macungie R.1; two sons, Leighton of Andreas and Edward of Lehighton R.7; a sister, Mrs. Lorena Meckes of Walnutport: 15 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the T.K. Thomas Funeral Home, 145 Delaware Ave., Palmerton. Calling hours will be 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.
