Cecil William Stiers passed away at 7:00 p.m. December 13, 1986 at the Normandy Osteopathic Hospital in Des Peres, MO.
He was a son of Alexander and Malvina (Groteweil) Stiers. , and was born near Rhineland, December 17, 1915. Cecil grew to manhood in the Rhineland-Bluffton area, and was called into services in 1941 and served five years n the U.S. Army. Most of his service time was spent in the Aleutian Islands. After his discharge from the Army, he moved to Granite City, IL. where he was employed as crane operator at the Laclede Steel Co. in Madison, IL. On September 28, 1946, he and Dorothy Anderson were united in marriage and lived in Granite City a number of years before moving to University City, Missouri. Mr. Stiers is survived by his wire Dorothy, one daughter, Pamela Summers of Houston, TX; four sisters: Lottie Geringer and Jeanette Livingston of Granite City, Margaret Kelindienst of Hermann and Edith Wolfmeier of Fulton; one brother, Bill Stiers of Fulton. His mother, father and one brother, Aubrey, and one sister, Lucille Zeugin precede him in death. Mr. Stiers leaves a large number of nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial services were held at Kriegshauser Funeral Home in St. Louis on Tuesday, December 16th, 1986 with burial there.
