It is said that Jeremiah was a Sherriff where they lived in Tenneesse. He moved most of his very large family to Oklahoma around the early to middle 1920's. He lost his wife in 1925. Jeremiah finally went out to California in the 1930's where by that time alot of his children had already been living. He spent some time with one of his daughters then moved in with 2 of his sons. They moved a few times, but it was in Santa Barbara, where Jeremiah "Jerry" was to stay.
