Camille Verniers was traveling with his wife and six children as third class passengers on board the Empress of Ireland.

Camille was married on 22 October 1904, to a heavily pregnant Edmee Munaut, much to his families disapproval. He adopted the baby, Jean, as his own son.

Camille worked a a piano and harmonium repairer. His family has many ties within the musical world and it seemed Camille excelled.

In 1909, the family immigrated to Chicoutimi, Saguenay, Quebec, Canada, where he became a planter.
The family were on their way back to Belgium to show off the new grandchildren.

The entire family was lost in the disaster and their bodies not recovered.
