Mrs. Helen Jean White, 56, of 414 Goethe Street, died yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. James Starr, 217 Pennsylvania Avenue. She had been in failing health. Born in Bloomington, she was a daughter of the late Thomas P. and Ida (Ralston) Swann, and also preceeded in death by two husbands, Lewis H. (Red) Chaney, and Marshall (Buck) White. She had been an employee of the Social Security Administration and was a member of First Presbyterian Church and Women of the Moose. Interment will be at Hillcrest Burial Park.
Also surviving are two brothers, Owen B. Swann, Grafton, and Randolph C. Swann, city; three sisters, Mrs. William B. Gentzel, Baltimore; Mrs. Norris Munsie, Keyser; and Mrs. Evelyn Martin, Mechanicsville, and three grandchildren.
The body is at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, where friends will be received from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 p.m.
A service will be conducted there tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Philip J. Sorensen officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Burial Park.
The family suggests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Allegany County Unit, American Cancer Society.
