In 1880 she lived in Bogart, Carroll, Missouri, United States.
I believe this is also where she was born although I have no record source of her place of birth.
I find it interesting how she met and married William Sherman Vess on 12 Dec 1897 in Rockford, Spokane, Washington. They both lived in Missouri when they were young. David M. Vess (William's dad) brought his family to Spokane, Spokane, Washington in the 1880s). Yet we see that in 1880 Mary Neva was still living in Missouri.
I can't find a 1890 census to confirm where Mary Neva was living. The next one I find is 1900 Rockford Town, Spokane, Washington.
They had 9 children (one being my grandfather Sherman Wesley Vess - b. 1912 d. 1958). William and Mary Neva (she went by Neva) are buried together. She is "332-I-Old". Also buried in 332--Old is Bessie (daughter) and Harold (son). There are more Vess' nearby.
