Earl E. Ketchledge, 57, of 199 Lewis St., Phillipsburg, died on September 28 in Warren Hospital where he was a patient since Tuesday
He was a machinist and a bench assembler at Bell and Howell Co., Phillipsburg, last working on September 24.
Born in Easton on November 26, 1919, he was a son of the late Ervin Ketchledge and Emma Good Ketchledge Heckman.
He lived in the Easton-Phillipsburg area all his life.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Phillipsburg. A hunting safety instructor for many years, he was a member of the Warren County Rod and Gun Club, No. 2, Bloomsbury. An Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, he was shot down over Europe where he was a prisoner of war for a year.
Surviving are his widow, the former Jane VanEmburg; four sons, Mark E. and Kurt E. and Neil E., both at home; two daughters, Misses Dorothy K. and Kathy J., both at home; a brother, Edward Ketchledge, Meriden Ct.; three half-brothers, Albert Heckman, Casselberry, Fla.; James Heckman, Easton, and Frederick Heckman, Nazareth; a step-brother, Harry Heckman, Easton; three half-sisters, Mrs. John Seip, Nazareth; Mrs. William Scott, Easton and Mrs. Donald Ayers, Phillipsburg, and a granddaughter.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. John's Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Greenwich Presbyterian Cemetery. The Rupell Funeral Home, Phillipsburg, is in charge of arrangements.
