MRS. F. E. SEAMAN DEAD
Mrs. Ellen Seaman died at her home in Hodgeman county last Saturday at 10:30 p.m. after a brief illness, death resulting from paralysis. She was first taken sick about seven months ago with a cold which afterwards developed into tonsilitis. She rapidly grew worse but was not considered in danger until her condition was complicated by paralysis.
Funeral services were held at the M. E. church in this city Monday afternoon, Rev. Hestwood officiating. A large gathering of friends of the deceased lady and family attended the services at the church, and a long procession followed the body to its last resting place in the Larned cemetery.
Mrs. Seaman was born in Locustdale, Pa., July 3, 1856, and was married at Girardsville, Pa., May 13, 1877. The family came to Kansas and located in Larned February 22, 1885, living in this city until three years ago when they moved to a farm in Pleasant Ridge, and from there to Hodgeman county about a year ago.
Mrs. Seaman leaves four daughters and three sons, the youngest only two years old, besides her husband to mourn her loss. Early in life she joined the Lutheran Reform church but later identified herself with the M. E. church, and died in that faith confident of her welfare in the hereafter.
