Died in a hospital at Waukesha where he had been taking treatment for an injury received during service. He had suffered a spinal injury after falling from his horse during a march. Immediate cause of death listed as pneumonia. He was 32 (?) years old, graduate of Augusta high school, and at the time he entered the service was an instructor at Aberdeen S.D. Normal school. 1917 he entered officers training camp at Ft. Snelling, Mn., receiving 1st Lt. commission. His army experiences lasted for a year after the war closed, including a trip to France. He was promoted to Capt. early in the war. He had been unable to take up any kind of work since leaving the service due to his injury. Survived by his mother Mary, brother Sidney, and brother Howard of Sask. Canada.
