Mrs Nellie Kercheval Was Born Near St Paul
Mrs Nellie Kercheval, 74, widely known resident of Greensburg for many years, passed away at 11 p.m. Sunday at the home of her son, Dr J Marine Kercheval, at Clinton.
Mrs Kercheval had made her home with her sister, Mrs Silas Huntington, at Indianapolis, for a number of years and for some time had been a patient at the Methodist hospital at Indianapolis. She had been taken to the home of her son at Clinton last Thursday.
A native of Adams township, Mrs Kercheval was the daughter of John B and Mary Pendleton Lowe McKee and was born near St Paul. She was reared in the St Pal community.
For many years she was prominently identified with clubs in Greensburg and later at Indianapolis. She was a charter member of the Greensburg Department Club and was affiliated with the Eastern Star. She was a member of the Methodist church here and later transferred her membership to Indianapolis. She was identified with the Quest Club, the Inter-Se Club and the International Travel Club at Indianapolis.
Mrs Kercheval received her education in the schools of Decatur county and at Hartsville College. She was a teacher in the county schools here for a number of years.
The survivors are: The son, Dr J Marine Kercheval and two grandchildren, of Clinton; two brothers, Dr H S McKee, of Greensburg, and J Frank McKee, of Cincinnati; two sisters, Mrs Frank Barlow, of St Paul, and Mrs Silas Huntington, of Indianapolis.
Funeral services will be held at the United Brethren church near St Paul at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. The Eastern Star will give its ritualistic service.
The body will be brought Tuesday to the Carmony funeral home at St Paul, where a candlelight service will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
