Ruth Ione (Mitchell) Adams was born February 14, 1917 in Washington, Arkansas to A. E. and Maggie (Jaynes) Mitchell. Ruth married Morris (Si) Adams on February 20, 1943 in Hugo, Oklahoma.
Ruth experienced many adventures and told her family and friends many stories, from the depression and beyond. At age 62, Ruth decided she wanted to take up painting; she took lessons—and paint she did, beautiful landscapes of local home sites.
Ruth was a very independent person and was very plain spoken. She really enjoyed visits from her grandchildren and loved to ride in the Red River countryside.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Ruby Tucker, A. E. Mitchell, Jr., and J. L. Mitchell.
She is survived by son Billy Morris Adams and daughter Judy Tarrance; sister, Eugenia and grandchildren, Jeff, Cliff, Sherry, Belinda, Kenneth, and Karen.
Cremation is under direction of Wood Funeral Homes, Deport.
