Charles W. Ables Sr., 79, of 403 N. 5th Ave. was pronounced dead at a Rome hospital at 10 a.m. today following a sudden attack suffered at his residence.
Mr. Ables was born Dec. 24, 1884, in Floyd County, son of the late Thomas Andrew and Matilda Young Ables, and had spent his entire life in Rome and Floyd County.
He was a member of the Trinity Methodist Church and the Brotherhood Sunday School class.
Survivors include his wife; the former Addie Parker, to whom he was married April 4, 1909; one son; C. W. Ables Jr. of Rome; two half-sisters; Mrs. Fannie Atkins of Armuchee and Mrs. Josie Ortiz, of Rome; four grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Daniel's Funeral Home.
