Darwin W. "Sam" Aeschliman was born June 18, 1945 at New Richmond, Wisconsin; the son of Arthur and Louise (Taylor) Aeschliman. He was reared and educated in Nebraska, and then moved to Wyoming in 1976.

He married Linda Nachtman in 1978 in Lander. He then moved to Louisiana in 1986 where he worked as an engineer for a switching firm.

He served a tour of duty with the United States Air Force.

He was survived by his wife of DeRidder; three children, Travis, Justin and Deidre Aeschliman all of Norfolk, Neb.; two step-sons, Mike and Mark Boespflug both of DeRidder; his mother, Louise Aeschliman of Valentine, Nebraska; four brothers, Robin of Hanna, Wyo., Vern of Pedricktown, N.J., Roy of Buffalo Lake, Minn., and Richard of Baton Rouge, La.; three sisters, Jean Hoffman of Valentine, Dee Hronek of Norfolk, and Sue Duke of Rock Springs; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
