James Ed Collins, 72, for the past several years operator of a grocery store in Olney and well known on the streets as a cotton buyer.

Collins moved to Texas as a young man and lived at Alvord before he came to Young County.

Mary Elizabeth Morris married Mr. Collins, a cotton buyer and merchant in Alvord. Mr. and Mrs. Collins came to Young County in 1924 and lived in Newcastle and Graham before moving to Olney in 1935.

Services were held in the Olney Church of Christ conducted by the minister, J.B. Lancaster.

Survivors: wife; sons - Guy Collins of Jacksboro, H.C. Collins of Fort Worth, Byron and Vernon Collins of Graham, J.B. Collins of Breckenridge, Bill Collins of Denton, daughters - Mrs. Eulalia McKinney of Newcastle, Mrs. Don Stewart of Wichita Falls, his mother - Mrs. W.G. Collins of Dallas, sister - Mrs. W.D. Williams of Dallas; eight grandchildren.
