Mother of Franklin S. Singleton may have been Mary "Polly" Williamson. His father has not been determined.
Franklin married Martha McCall in 1853 in Barbour County, Alabama. Martha was a daughter of Daniel McCall.
Franklin served in Company B, 39th Alabama Infantry, CSA and was wounded in the hand and lost the use of it for the remander of his life. He survived the war.

At some point after 1870, Martha McCall Singleton went to Texas and was living with son, William F. Singleton(1880 Census, Shelby County, Texas). It is not known why Franklin and Martha parted ways. Franklin later married Anna Anglin August 15, 1872,at the home of her mother, Mrs. Laura A. Anglin, probably in Balbour County, Alabama. Franklin and Anna had one daughter, Leila/Lula, born in April, 1885. The burial location of Martha McCall Singleton, Franklin's first wife, is not known. The burial location for his second wife is not known.
