He was well known as a musician, having played with the old St. Aloysius Cadet Corps and several other bands in Hampden County. He was a charter member of the Hampden County Musician's Assoc. Local 171, of Springfield, Ma. Before his retirement in 1949, Mr. Abare was a barber for 40 years.

Husband of Josephine Guertin whom he married on Nov. 19, 1900 in St. Aloysius Church, Indian Orchard, Ma.
