Alvenius Hontz dies here today.
After an illness of less than three weeks duration. Alvenius Hontz succumbed to complications at the home of his mother. 1914 East Tenth Street shortley after 4 o'clock this morning. He was 44 years of age at the time of his death.
He was born near Columbus Junction, July 14, 1873, where he spent his boyhood days. He alternated his residence between this city and Davenport for a number of years until recently when illness brought him to the home of his mother here.
He is survived by his mother, two children Glen and Lee at home ,one sister, Mrs. Eugene Metzger of Winfield, Iowa and six brothers, Albert of Milton, Robert of Winfield, George of Condesville, David and Frank, and Jesse of this city.
The funeral will probably be held Monday afternoon. The remains to be moved to Wapello where interment will be made in the family lot.
Not sure why the difference in spelling on the name. first and last?
