James G. Lacerra, of Ardsley, New York, passed away on June 10, 2011.

He was born in Mount Vernon on October 11, 1942 to Louis and Virginia Lacerra. James, who is affectionately known as 'Jimmy Cigars,' was the owner of The Tobacconist of Greenwich in Greenwich. The Tobacconist of Greenwich has been a landmark in Greenwich for the last forty years, where so many friends and friendships have been formed and where these friends gather on a daily basis for 'a smoke.' The legacy of the shop will continue on for many more generations to come.

James is survived by his loving wife, Jacqueline Lacerra, his special cousins, Kathleen and Thomas Ryan; and Michael Cafagno, who has for many years ensured the smooth daily operations of the cigar shop.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Yannantuono Burr Davis Sharpe Funeral Home, 584 Gramatan Avenue, Mount Vernon, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at Sts. Peter & Paul Church, Mount Vernon.
Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
