Funeral services for Bill L. Rippetoe were held Saturday, January 12, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. in the Sayre First Babtist Church with Tom Cooksey and Lloyd Riddles officiating. Burial was in the Delhi Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
Bill, the son of Geneva and William Rippetoe, was born April 15, 1919 in Texola, OK and passed away January 9, 2002 in the Great Plains Regional Medical center of Elk City, OK at the age of 82 years, eight months and 24 days. Bill grew up in Beckham County and married Frankie Bell Dewees Rippetoe at Sayre, OK on June 7, 1946. They farmed in the Spring Creek area until 1950 when they moved to Borger and he began his career with Philips Petroleum. They lived in Pampa and Bowers City, TX before he was transferred to Hobbs, NM in 1961. He retired from Phillips Petroleum in 1983 and they remained in Hobbs until 1986 when they moved back to Oklahoma. They made their home in Weatherford before moving to Sayre in 1990 to make their home. He was a member of the Sayre First Babtist Church. He was proceeded in death by his parents, one son, two brothers and four sisters. He is survived by his wife, Frankie of the home; four children, Bill W. Rippetoe of Dallas, TX, Wanda Bruns of Weatherford, OK, Frank Rippetoe of Estancia, NM and Ray Rippetoe of Allen, TX; four brothers, Herman Rippetoe of Carter, OK, Jack Rippetoe of Sayre, Carroll Rippetoe of Clarendon, TX and Gene Rippetoe of Pampa, TX; 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren; and two special friends, Harold (Doc) and Delores Harrington, NM.
