Son of Albert D. Ellis and Irene Ellis. He married Rosemary Wisdom on February 20, 1962. He was a member of the Keytesville Baptist Church. He served three years in the U.S. Marine Corps. Funeral services were held at Asbury Methodist Church by Rev. Lawrence Thompson of Kansas City. Music was by Janice Fridley of Washington and Erma Howard.
