Mrs. Virginia Drakes Brewer was born November 11, 1921 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Will Drakes of Troup County.
At an early age she joined the Welcome Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. A. Hall. She was a faithful member.
In 1940 she married Mr. George Dewey Brewer, Jr. To this union eleven children were born; six girls and five boys.
She departed this life January 15, 1980 at her home on 114 Redline Alley.
She leaves to cherish her husband, Mr. George Dewey Brewer, Jr.; children, Mrs. Mary Davis, Miss Thenola Brewer, Miss Frances Brewer, Miss Ruby Brewer, Mrs. Barbara White, Mr. Gary Brewer, Mr. Nathaniel Brewer, Mr. Charles Brewer, all of LaGrange, Georgia; Mrs. Annie Kelley, New York; Mr. George Brewer, III, Mr. Leon Brewer, both of Atlanta, Georgia; three daughters-in-law, Merdistine Brewer, Cynthia Brewer and Miranda Brewer; thee sons-in-law, Larry Davis, George Kelly, SSG Eddie White; eighteen grandchildren; a mother, Mrs. Frances Drakes; mother-in-law, Mrs. Rosie Brewer; one sister, Mrs. Mary Spence, LaGrange, Georgia; one sister-0in-law, Mrs. Eva Clyde Boykin, Dayton, Ohio; one brother, Mr. Charlie Milton, Cleveland, Ohio; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
