A TIME FOR ACADEMICS:
Her limited education was obtained in the Troup County School System.
A TIME OF CONVERSION:
Mrs. Brewer accepted Christ as her personal Savior when very young, was a co-founder and pioneer family of Welcome Baptist Church in LaGrange, Georgia, where she served dutifully and faithfully as President of the Usher Board, and was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
A TIME OF LOVE AND COMMITMENT:
She was married to the late Mr. George Dewey Brewer, who predeceased her June 2, 1975. Their life together was a testimony to others. They were a devoted couple. After his demise, Mrs. Brewer relocated to Dalton to be near her brother and other family members.
A TIME OF LABOR:
After forty-nine years of dedicated service, she retired from LaGrange College in the Housekeeping department. Affectionately known as "Mama Rose" and "Granny Ro", she lovingly reared seven step grandchildren and cared for children of working mothers in her home.
A TIME OF HOMEGOING:
Was Saturday, January 31, 1998 while at her residence. Her sweet spirit is now absent from the body and is now present with the Lord.
A TIME OF CHERISHED MEMORIES:
Her survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Georgia Milton; one brother and sister-in-law, Mr. Howard and Lillian Jackson; two granddaughters, Ms. Jacki Carson, all of Dalton, and Ms. Fran Fleming of Chattanooga; two great grandchildren, Ms. Deniece Sanders of Chattanooga, and Mr. Sean Bonner of Cleveland, Ohio; one great great-granddaughter, Miss Danielle Sanders of Chattanooga; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, step grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
