Mrs Elliott Filkins
Ballston Spa-- Lottie Norcross, wife of Elliott Filkins, 71 Church died suddenly yesterday at her home. Mrs Filkins had just brought a chair to the porch and sat down to wait for a Schenectady bus, when she was taken ill. Neighbors noticed something was wrong and went to her assistance. Dr. Charles J. Higley was summoned and found her beyond help. She had suffered a heart attack.
Mrs Filkins was born in Cadyville 67 years ago and had been a resident of this village 34 years. Besides her husband, she is survived by a sister, Mrs Hattie Leggett, Cadyville, and a brother, William Surrell, Schenectady.
The funeral will be held Monday at 2 p.m., from the Wheeler Funeral Home. The Rev. Jesse S. Greene, will officiate and burial will be in village cemetery.
The funeral home will be open from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.


Funeral services for Mrs Elliott Filkins were held on Monday afternoon at two o'clock at the Wheeler Funeral Home, the Rev Jesse S Greene, pastor of the Methodist church, officiating. Burial in the village cemetery.
Mrs Filkins died very suddenly on Friday afternoon at her home 71 Church avenue.
She was seated on her front porch awaiting the Schenectady bus when she was stricken with a fatal heart attack. Dr. C.J Higley was called but she was dead when he arrived.
Mrs Filkins was sixty seven years of age and born at Cadyville. She had resided her for thrity four years. She was a member of the Methodist church.
Survivors besides her husband are a sister, Mrs Hattie Leggett, of Cadyville and a brother William Serrell, of Schenectady.
