He served in WW II as a Master Sgt. with the ordnance department of the United States Army Air Force. He was a member of the Pierce Methodist Church, Post #72 of the American Legion and Pierce Chamber of Commerce. Graveside services were held by American Legion Claud Duff Post of Salisbury with Rev. Admiral Phillips officiating. He was preceded in death by a son Randy who died in 1954 at the age of 3 years, and his parents.
