Margaret "Meg" McAnally was a WASP(Women Airforce Service Pilots)during World War II. She attended Antelope Valley Joint Union High School in Lancaster, CA. Margaret graduated with the WASP Class 43-W-6 at Avenger Field in Sweetwater, Texas. 1,074 women were awarded their silver wings and flew over 60 million miles on operational duty. Lancaster Cemetery District in Lancaster, CA honored the WASP with a monument which was dedicated on Memorial Day, May 30, 2011.
