She operated Pat's Hair Fashions, retiring after 35 years. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and also attended the Mount Vernon General Baptist Church. She enjoyed decorative painting.
Surviving are her husband of 48 years, Donald Carl Hast; a son Donald Joe Hast of Mount Vernon; a daughter, Cynthia Irene (Hast) Naab of Mount Vernon; five grandchildren, Mary Ann, Adam, and John Hast, Erin (Erwin) Hollinger, and Nathan Naab; her mother, Vashti Saltzman of Mount Vernon; two sisters, Betty Reinitz and Judy Redman both of Mount Vernon; a brother, Jerry Saltzman of New Harmony; two step-grandchildren, Chuck and Justin Naab; And two great-grandchildren Riley and Hagan Hollinger.
She was preceded in death by her father, Vogel Saltzman, and a brother, James Saltzman.
Funeral Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Schneider Funeral Home Norvell chapel, with the Revs. Dallas Robinson and Franklin Dumond officiating. Burial was at Bellefontaine Cemetery.
Visitation was from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society Posey County Chapter Relay for Life.
