Ralph Rufus Kraxberger, 91, died May 23, 2011, at his Canby home. He was born April 9, 1920, to Rufus and Margaret Kraxberger in their Lone Elder home. He attended elementary school in Lone Elder and Canby, graduating from Canby High School in 1938.

On Nov. 12, 1944, he married Betty Hostetler in Zoar Lutheran Church in Canby.

He farmed in the Lone Elder area and owned the Elbow Room in Molalla and the Lone Elder Store in the 1950s and then worked for Holman Transfer in Milwaukie until he retired.
He was a deacon at Calvary Mennonite Church.

Survivors include his wife; daughter, Donna Morris of Salem; son, Mike of Willamette; sister, Gloria Nelson of Tigard; brother, Norman of Woodburn; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. His daughter Debbie Howard and brother Rufus Kraxberger Jr. preceded him in death.

A service will be held Friday, June 3, at 1 p.m. at Canby Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Aaron Walton officiating. Burial will be at Zion Mennonite Cemetery in Hubbard.
