Mr. Wright was well known in Wythe County and had a large number of friends. He was stricken with a heart ailment a few days prior to his death and was taken to the hospital.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Virginia Wright, Wytheville; two sons, Woodrow Wright, Forest Hill, Md.; Douglas W. Wright, Wytheville; two step sons, Roy Sands, Bobby Jo Sands, Wytheville; a step daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Boyce, Wytheville; a brother, J. B. Wright, Wytheville; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren; an aunt, Mrs. Nellie Blevins, Cripple Creek.
Porterfield-Minnick Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
