Funeral services for Walter Kenneth Wright, age 67 of Route 2, who died Friday at the Wytheville Hospital were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Mt. View Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Henry Holt. Burial was in the Speedwell cemetery at Speedwell.
Pallbearers were Lee Nelson, Raymond Buchanan, Guy Nelson, Starling Jennings, Elbert Collins, J. W. Callahan.
Mr. Wright was well known in Wythe County and had a large number of friends. He was stricken with a heart ailment a few days prior to his death and was taken to the hospital.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Virginia Wright, Wytheville; two sons, Woodrow Wright, Forest Hill, Md.; Douglas W. Wright, Wytheville; two step sons, Roy Sands, Bobby Jo Sands, Wytheville; a step daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Boyce, Wytheville; a brother, J. B. Wright, Wytheville; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren; an aunt, Mrs. Nellie Blevins, Cripple Creek.
