BARTON, Richard Michael, "Rick" , age 46, of Flint, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2011. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Grand Blanc Twp. Rev. Kevin Joe Shafer will officiate. Interment at New Calvary Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be Tuesday 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Donations may be to the family. Rick was born April 3, 1965 in Virginia Beach, Virginia the son of the late Calvin and Norma Jean Barton. He married Diane Chapman in Flint on April 3, 1993. Rick enjoyed fishing and was a loyal Dallas Cowboys Football Fan. Surviving are his wife, Diane of Flint; 5 children, Christopher Goodyear, Rebecca Simpkins, Shane Soggs, Richard Goodyear all of Flint, Dana Long of Virginia; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Richard Barton; 2 sisters, Susie Simpson and Carol Diekeil all of Virginia; and nephew, Scott. He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Christina Sellares.
