Thomas Carr Blassingame was the son of James Harrison and Sarah Elizabeth Merritt-Blassingame
He was first married to Lana Wilson abt. 1873 in Mississippi.
Following her death, he married Salethia Cockerham in Red River County, Texas on 30 May 1900. He died about 5 years following his second marriage.

Sadly, the monument has fallen over during the last few years due to the rear of the base sinking over time.
