Richard P. Barnett, 73, Monett, died Friday, May 27, 2011, at his home. He was born July 30, 1937, in Monett to King E. and Emma J. (Autry) Barnett. He was a graduate of Monett High School and had attended Missouri State University in Springfield. He had worked as a salesman for Guy L. Wardden & Sons in Los Angeles,Calif., retiring in 1995. Following his retirement he moved back to Monett.
He married JoAnn Ingle Jan. 30, 1995, in Las Vegas, Nev. She survives.
Additional survivors include two sons, Richard K. Barnett, Encino, Calif., and Thomas P. Barnett, Rialto, Calif.; one daughter, Brooklynne Anhalt, Plano, Texas; three stepdaughters, Jennifer Hoggett, Richland, Shelly Whaley, Monett, and Kelly Harrison, Aurora; two sisters, Rebecca Giboney, Springfield, and Virginia Peters, Monett; two brothers, James Barnett and Thomas Barnett, both of Springfield; and eight grandchildren.
Graveside services were Tuesday, May 31, at the Rocky Comfort Cemetery, Rocky Comfort, with Gene Ingle officiating,under the direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross for the Joplin tornado relief fund, in care of the funeral home.
