Lois Black Services Slated For Thursday Afternoon

Services for Lois Black. 80, Tyler, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday at Liberty Baptist Church, Tyler, with the Rev. M.D. Hood officiating.

Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery under direction of Community Funeral Home of Tyler.

Mrs. Black died July 22 in a Tyler nursing home.

She was born July 9, 1920, in Tyler and was a lifelong resident. She attended Shady Grove public schools and retired from Crescent Laundry. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church where she served as an usher, and a member of Living Stream Court No. 318, heroines of Jericho. She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy Black, and four brothers.

Survivors include son, Roy Chester Black, Tyler,; daughter, Helen Marie Shepard, Tucson, Ariz.; and sister, Fayetta Brewer, Bronx, N.Y.

Pallbearers include Tony Terrell, Henry Williams, Paul Price, Charles E. Booker, Clifford Ward, Billy Price and Hiawatha Miller.

Honorary pallbearers are deacons and trustees of Liberty Baptist Church.

Family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
