"On the 31st October 1941, Spitfire P9320 from RAF Grangemouth was detailed to carrying out low flying forced landing exercises coupled with direction finding homing practice. The last radar contact made with the aircraft was a few minutes before 09:00 hours. Nothing more was heard from the aircraft which failed to return to base. Pilot Officer Tucker’s body was later located in the hills to the East of Loch Lomond at Gualann, Stirlingshire".
